Types of Presentation

Abstracts may be submitted for oral, poster, or oral/poster presentation. The Symposia Conveners will determine whether the abstract will be accepted for presentation, taking into account the author’s preference.

Formatting Guidelines

1. Overview

Authors are invited to submit abstracts using the official Microsoft Word template provided by the conference organizers. To ensure consistency and readability across all submitted abstracts, please follow these guidelines carefully. Do not alter the template’s fonts, margins, or layout in any way.

2. File Format and Submission

Submit your abstract as a Microsoft Word document (.docx) using the provided template file. PDF submissions or documents reformatted outside the template will not be accepted.

3. Page Layout

  • Paper size: US Letter (8.5 × 11 inches)
  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides (top, bottom, left, and right)
  • All content must fit on a single page. Do not exceed one page.

4. Page Header

The page header is pre-formatted in the template and must not be modified. It displays the conference name, dates, and venue right-aligned at the top of the page, separated from the body content by a horizontal rule.

5. Title

  • Font: Times New Roman, 18 pt, Bold
  • Alignment: Center
  • Use title case. Avoid abbreviations unless widely recognized in the field.
  • Do not use all capitals.

6. Author Name(s)

  • Font: Times New Roman, 14 pt, Regular (not bold)
  • Alignment: Center
  • List all authors in order of contribution, separated by commas or line breaks.
  • Do not include academic titles or degrees (e.g., Dr., Prof.).

7. Affiliation(s)

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt, Regular
  • Alignment: Center
  • Place the affiliation on the line immediately below each author’s name.
  • Include department or institute name, institution, and country (e.g., Research Institute of Basic Sciences, Jeju National University, South Korea).
  • If multiple authors share the same affiliation, it may be listed once beneath all relevant names.

8. Corresponding Author

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt (document default), Regular
  • Alignment: Center
  • Include the label “Corresponding Author:” followed by the email address on a separate line below all affiliations.
  • Example: Corresponding Author: yourname@institution.ac.kr

9. Keywords

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt (document default); the word “Keywords” is bold, the list is regular weight
  • Alignment: Justified
  • Provide 3 to 6 keywords, separated by commas.
  • Format: Keywords: keyword one, keyword two, keyword three
  • Select terms that best represent the topic, methodology, and application area of your work.

10. Abstract Body

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt (document default), Regular; the word “Abstract” is bold
  • Alignment: Justified
  • Format: Abstract: [body text begins here on the same line]
  • Length: 250 to 400 words recommended. Do not exceed the one-page limit.

The abstract body should follow a clear four-part structure.

11. Acknowledgment (Optional)

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt (document default), Regular; the word “Acknowledgment” is bold
  • Alignment: Justified
  • Format: Acknowledgment: [text begins here on the same line]
  • If applicable, list funding sources, grant numbers, or supporting institutions. Keep this section brief (one to two sentences).

12. General Notes

  • Do not insert additional sections, page numbers, or footnotes.
  • Do not include figures, tables, or references in the abstract.
  • Ensure all text is in English.
  • Proofread carefully before submission. The abstract will be published as submitted.

Abstract Submitter’s Declaration

  • I confirm that I have previewed this abstract and that all information is correct. I accept that the content of this abstract cannot be changed after final submission and I understand that it will be published as submitted.
  • By submitting the abstract, all authors agree to publication (e.g. on the website, in programmes, other promotions, etc.).
  • The Abstract submitter warrants and represents that no part of the information and content provided by him/her (hereafter referred to as “Content“) to OceanoiseAsia 2026 or the publication of any such Content by each of the organizing committee, on the internet or otherwise infringes any third party rights, including but not limited to privacy rights and/or intellectual property rights.
  • The Abstract submitter grants each of the organizing committee the license and right to use, reproduce, publish, translate, distribute, and display the Content or any part thereof, in any manner and on any platform or media whatsoever, in each organizer’s absolute discretion, on a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable nonexclusive basis.
  • The presenting author is responsible for informing the other authors about the status of the abstract. The submitting author may request to be copied on the abstract correspondence.
  • I understand that the presenting author must be a registered participant. The Scientific Program Committee reserves the right to exclude from publication and/or presentation any abstract that does not comply with the above. I confirm that I have received the consent of all authors for their contact details to be processed by the Scientific Program Committee.
